Olivia M. Manley
B.S. in Chemistry, 2016, Winthrop University
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, 2021, North Carolina State University
Postdoctoral Fellow, 2022-2026, Northwestern University
Olivia Manley received a B.S. in Chemistry from Winthrop University, where she first began research in bioinorganic chemistry, working on nickel-sensing transcription factors with Prof. Nicholas Grossoehme. She obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University with Prof. Thomas Makris, focusing on the mechanistic enzymology of diiron and iron/manganese enzymes relevant to biofuel production, natural product synthesis, and pathogenesis. Dr. Manley was a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Amy Rosenzweig at Northwestern University, where she studied a family of multinuclear iron enzymes involved in natural product biosynthesis. Dr. Manley joined the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University in 2026. Outside of the lab, she enjoys spending time with her cats and going to metal concerts.
